Nate Brickhouse Plays Role in Wake Forest University's Production of 'Almost, Maine'

2011 Oct 27

Nate Brickhouse from Raleigh, N.C., is taking part in the Wake Forest University theatre department's production of "Almost, Maine." Brickhouse, a sophomore, plays the role of 'Phil' in the show, one of 30 roles both on stage and behind the scenes. "Almost, Maine," written by John Cariani, takes place in the mythical town of Almost, Maine, where characters find themselves in crucial moments of choice in their relationships.

As an essential part of Wake Forest University's theatre program, opportunities to become involved and make significant contributions to productions are available to all students regardless of their year in school or major course of study. "We try very hard to find the right roles for our students as we put together the best cast and crew for a specific production," says John Friedenberg, director of the University Theatre. "In 'Almost, Maine,' there are 11 first-year students with key roles. The experience gained from working on a major production in the first semester at school provides a critical foundation to their study and development as students in and out of theatre.

Students involved in the production had an opportunity to rehearse with the playwright.

Performances are October 28-29 and November 2-6, 2011.
